SUMMER EVENING IN SUOMENLINNA — 2.–4.7.2018
“Contemporary dance meets traditional Finnish social dance”
Interactive and episodic evening in a dance restaurant milieu inspired by the Finnish popular music and strong social dance culture. The beautiful surroundings of Suomenlinna – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – add to the performance, which combines traditional social dancing with contemporary dance. The evening starts with a social dance lesson taught by the choreographer Alpo Aaltokoski and the company’s dancers, followed by the performance of Take my hand, a contemporary dance work. The evening ends with an open invitation to dance. The role of a wallflower is also allowed!
The costume design for Take my hand is done by one of the leading Finnish eco design brands TAUKO.
